The Adverts were part of the first wave of punk acts, performing at the Roxy Club in 1976 and releasing their debut album on Stiff records in 1977. Two years later they released their second album ‘Cast Of Thousands,’ shortly before the band split. It contains some of the band's finest songs including ‘Television’s Over’, ‘Back From The Dead’ and the title track.
Disc 1 of this set contains the complete original album plus two bonus tracks, while disc 2 is a collection of tracks the band recorded for the late, great John Peel, including versions of all their hits including the ‘One Chord Wonders’ and ‘Gary Gilmore Eyes.’
