AMBITIONS was formed in 2005 with only two goals in mind: to have fun and to create music that was a departure from the current music scene. The foundation of the band began as current WITH HONOR guitarists Jay and Jeff Aust started jamming with Jay on drums and Jeff on guitar. They would soon bring in WITH HONOR drummer John Ross and then the songwriting took off as they wrote and recorded their first demo. With the help of friend and producer Greg Thomas, the group completed the No Limits demo which was well-received throughout the punk/hardcore community. The band recruited good friends Matt Fox and Matt Fletcher (of SHAI HULUD fame) and began playing shows in the Northeast in early 2006. On September 19, 2006, AMBITIONS will release their EP entitled Question on Think Fast! Records. Question is an impressive debut the likes of which the punk/hardcore scene hasn't seen in many years. Lyrically and musically, AMBITIONS attempts to tackle themes of introspection and self-exploration. The band's music, according to vocalist Jay Aust, is about "coming to terms with the disparity between our youthful aspirations and the reality of the world." AMBITIONS strives to break through the genre barriers that plague the current punk/hardcore scene by playing honest music that they enjoy, without limiting themselves to any one scene's constraints.
