Started by guitarist Panter back in 1995, Barcode released ‘Hard Jet Super Flash’, their stunning debut album, two years later and quickly become one of Europe’s most promising hardcore metal/acts, mixing old school and new school like no others did back then, not to mention an impressive dosage of uncompromising attitude which made them very well respected on both sides of the Atlantic. Other two albums, ‘Beerserk’ (1999) and ‘Hardcore’ (2002), and a massive live activity all around the globe took Barcode to a clearly higher level, to the point that leading German metal label Nuclear Blast decided to sign them and bring ‘Showdown’, Barcode’s fourth full length effort, to the masses. Following the release of the album, original singer Butch decided to leave the band for personal reasons but the guys immediately started auditions for a proper replacement, which was finally found in the person of SS Graveyard (former member of Demolition Inc.). With a renewed line-up, a new record label, Scarlet Records, and a grown desire for making the heaviest music around, Barcode are ready to come back with another monumental record, another lesson in violence that will tear you down. ‘Ahead Of The Game’, this is the title of the band’s fifth album, will be released on the 20th November on Scarlet Records. No holds barred hardcore. Barcode are still ahead of the game!
