Captain Sensible was a founding member of legendary punk band The Damned. Whilst still a member of The Damned in 1982 he signed a solo deal with A&M Records. In June 1982, he reached number 1 in the UK with a cover of Roger’s and Hammerstein’s ‘Happy Talk’ from the musical ‘South Pacific’.
