MR.IRISH BASTARD shot into existence in as the brain child of singer/song writer Mr. Irish Bastard Himself in mid 2006. With only one song recorded the band found itself supporting folk legends The Levellers on their European Tour. The genie was firmly out of the bottle and has remained so since then. In the past three and a half years MR.IRISH BASTARD has built a loyal fan base and has achieved international recognition for the definitive Irish folk punk sound it has created, carving out something which stands out from the rest. After 180 shows in 10 countries MR.IRISH BASTARD is a live force to be reckoned with. Beouf, Gran, Lily, Ivo and Himself are tight band, excellent musicians, blending tin whistles, banjos, mandolins, accordions and raw guitars into a unique sound. The band has never taken itself too seriously and its humorous on and off stage antics make every gig a special experience. In 2008 MR.IRISH BASTARD released its first full length album THE BASTARD BROTHERHOOD on Reedo Records/Rough Trade. Summer 2009 saw the band hit the big festival stages, playing to up to 5,000 people on huge stages up and down the country and exposing the band to a broad audience. MR.IRISH BASTARD spans age groups and genres, a unique phenomenon in the making. In May 2009 MR.IRISH BASTARD found itself board a plane to Beijing, playing 12 gigs from Beijing to Shanghhai. As expected MR.IRISH BASTARD was able to work its magic. The band is currently working on its third release which is to hit the shelves in March 2010. The band is starting its tour in support of the album in Japan, touring Europe as soon as it comes back. Himself comments: "It is so unlikely that the people who could play in this band all live in the same small-ish city. The stars just aligned and this was supposed to happen to us, here and now. It's a beautiful ride and we are privileged to be part of it and are enjoying it like hell. Let's see what's next." After touring heavily and selling thousands of CDs the band is now teaming up with I HATE PEOPLE Records for that next big step. As always with this band, the question is: "What next?"..
