Operation Ivy’s Energy is back after years of being unavailable. Formed in 1987, Op Ivy are a legendary 4-piece fronted by future Rancid cohorts Tim Armstrong and Matt Freeman, along with friends Jesse Michaels (Common Rider) and Dave Mello. Originally distributed by Lookout! Records as a compilation in 1991, which sold in excess of 500,000 copies, Operation Ivy features the group's only LP (Energy) as well as their 7" EP (Hectic) and two songs from the 7" EP compilation Turn It Around. Remastered by Gene Grimaldi (Tiger Army, Transplants, Pennywise, NOFX), the album will be released as a digipak with original artwork. Now considered a classic, and regularly namechecked in lists of the all-time great punk albums, Energy is one of the few records that sells as much year in year out as it did in its original release, as new generations of fans discover this influential album. 1.
